According to the brothers in the fantastic workshop, Shekley was the first outrage of calm in science fiction. Humor, irony, which filled his stories, novels and novels, are so unique that it is enough to grab at least a few lines from the text to immediately say - this is Shekly. And the author himself did not at all hide his attitude to literature: “I tried to be not too serious all my life. I do not consider myself a political thinker and try to convey everything to readers in a slight, unobtrusive form. Irony is my style. I did not choose the irony as the natural basis of my thinking, it happened. It seems to me that people are more interesting for people, and not teaching, an entertaining story, and not a verbose reasoning. If what I say remains incomprehensible or understood not to the end, if people just read a funny story and at the same time relax, it suits me quite in. ”
