Franz Kafka and Howard Lovecraft are writers from different continents who equally felt coming changes. Both described the horrors and the nightmare of the reality surrounding them: in Lovecraft, a mortal man fights with a cosmic, primitive fear, in Kafka - with the bureaucratic apparatus and the meaninglessness of being. Their works resemble a bad dream in which ordinary people are surrounded by supernatural dangers, but they do not always overcome them
