In one of the sparsely populated areas of Western Siberia there is a small river - the border between our world and an abnormal distortion zone "K". It is relatively safe only in the quarantine zone: waves that turn the living into inanimate - and vice versa do not reach here. There are no nights in these parts, some plants are difficult to distinguish from animals, and space can go cracks. Half a century ago, a scientific institution was founded here.
Young journalist Bogdan Avdeev comes to the internship, although he knows very well that he will never return. He counts on a measured life and routine work, but is forced to take on an investigation. Does Bogdan guess how it will end and how will his life change?
