The attempt of the 2nd shock army to break through the blockade of the besieged Leningrad in the summer of 1942 ended in failure. To prepare a new offensive operation under the code name “Iskra”, the VGK rate as its representative sends General Rokossovsky to the Volkhov front. He does not have strong reserves or a miracle weapon that can quickly turn the position at the front in favor of the Soviet troops, and his only trump card is an excellent possession of the Suvorov science to win the enemy not by number, but by skill. He is opposed by his longtime enemy - Field Marshal Manstein, preparing the operation Northern Lights in order to capture Leningrad before the onset of autumn rains
