Polish writer Stefan Grabinsky is a prominent representative of the East European "Himmer prose". The unusual and mysterious phenomena that his heroes face are always somewhere near a person, ready to manifest themselves in the most unexpected, often tragic way. Stories from his "railway cycle" are filled with portraits of drivers, conductors, stations, often located in just one step from madness, the source of which is always a painful passion for trains and everything that is associated with them, and the element of the wonderful, closely woven with technology, enhances Emotional effect. In the "Book of Fire" the same role is played by a fiery element, which has its own life and consciousness, terribly and tragically affecting people. In this publication, three collections of Grabinsky’s stories are included - a debut double collection "from the rarities.
