Mikhail Melnikov, a former school teacher, sets off on a traveling in the Chernobyl zone of alienation full of deaths. Its motives are a mystery to other "good luck." He is struggling to get to the center of the zone, to his hometown, because he cannot do otherwise. Mikhail does not know how to be cruel, does not know how to survive, but it is he who has to visit those places where even the most desperate stalkers did not wander, to participate in the outdoor war of groups and, possibly, touched the unraveling of the appearance of the zone.
