Alexander Ruban (1955-2015) is a science fiction writer and a poet, whose whole life is associated with Tomsk-a city built on the border of the real and imaginary. Fantastic for Alexander Ruban was primarily art, a way of worldview, opposed to boring realism. The heroes of the writer do not blow up the galaxies and do not save the planets. In the best case, they try to save themselves: their life, their peace, their loved ones. Your love, your face. The characters perceive the antastic world in which they exist by the will of the author, often not trying to even understand it. They only strive to survive. But this problem is not always solved ... Having released a dozen original and multifaceted books and gaining recognition both among fantasy admirers and ordinary readers, Alexander Ruban, unfortunately, did not manage to combine his work in the collected works. The Prestige Buk publishing house decided to correct this injustice, thereby paying tribute to the talented science fiction: before you are three volumes of the best works of the writer. The first volume included the early fantastic story “Simple Solution”, “Military Fantastic Triptich”-“Dream of War”, “Russian Mars” and “White Elephant”, as well as the story “Roman Law”, on which the writer worked for more than twenty years. In each of the three volumes, a selection of poems of the Ruban-Poet is presented. The second volume presents the debut story “Completions at Eternity”, “Winding in the Clouds” and “Dust under the Wind”-works of thinking about what makes a person fly and where we really live and are happy-in dreams or reality, experimental “Spring in Hyperboreans”, a story from the times of Tarquinius the proud “Lucretius and Sekost” and several phantasmagoric stories. In the third volume, Alexander Ruban shows himself both a brilliant master of a short story and a large -form work - for example, in the novel Feican Ships, an ancient Greek blind singer Demodok, aka time traveler, through the lines of his songs, modifying numerous reality, mocks at the intrigues of the powerful the gods obedient to his lyre
