Dimkin Dad died in the Chechen war, but he did not want to believe that his father was no longer in this world. Having made friends with the brownie, Dimka finds out that his father did not die, but lost his memory and is in Chechen slavery. Dima made friends with the brownie, whom Gabriel called. Gabriel, having been in the past, said with confidence Dimka that his father was neither among the dead or among the living. When asked by Dimka why so, Gabriel replied that this happens if a person has lost his memory. With bitterness, Dimka learns that his father was in slavery
