Anna has a rare and extremely valuable gift of perception: she can easily read the emotions of other people and feel what they feel. However, this gift was almost a curse, for they attracted the attention of those who are eager to use it for selfish purposes.
Anna develops their gift with the help of a mysterious mentor who calls herself Nero. He is impenetrable, as if hidden from her with a veil. Nero teaches Anna to use the gift in the best way and does not tire of repeating that she is destined for great things. It is not surprising that the heroine is imbued with feelings for her mentor, but he every now and then eludes her, driven by completely different aspirations.
