"Andromeda nebula (1958) is a science fiction novel about the future of planet Earth. When writing the novel, Ivan Efremov was inspired by Western science fiction and at the same time polemicized with her, built a utopian model of the future, and at the same time brightly described the complex fantastic worlds. The novel was a huge success and influenced the entire subsequent Soviet science fiction. The image of the future among whole generations of Soviet readers was formed precisely by the "nebula of Andromeda"
