One of the most famous novels by Alexander Belyaev "Man -Amfibiya" tells the exciting and dramatic story of Ichthyander - a young man endowed with the ability to breathe under water. Embodying a man’s old dream of free life in other elements, Ichthiadr is inappropriate to life in the elements of people - cruel, hypocritical, craving profit. Love and mercy, meanness and cunning - the young man will have to deal with different human qualities and survive a lot of trials. In contrast to the underwater farmers doomed to loneliness in the ocean of Ichthyandra, they successfully subjugate the water element. Getting to the breeding of seaweed, a group of enthusiasts founds a whole colony - a “underwater state farm”, developing the writer’s imagination about how “life would have changed if humanity lived in the ocean”.
