Petr Cheigin was born in 1948 in the village of Soykino. After moving with his family to Leningrad in the late 1960s, he became one of the brightest and most original poets of the northern capital, a legendary figure of the Leningrad bohemia, as Viktor Krivulin said about him. Cheigin's poetry is not a message, but a confidentially open door to his inner world. The peculiarity of his poems is their polyphony. The poet's words can barely keep up with the movements of his soul. And the soul, caring only about the authenticity of the poetic word, echoes the voices of nature and the heart. 'Feathered Snow' is the first and, paradoxically, the only book by Petr Cheigin.
