Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a great German poet, thinker, and public figure, a master of thought of his time. This volume presents his most famous works: the tragedy "Faust" (a story about the legendary mage and sorcerer, dedicated to the eternal themes of understanding life and the difficulties of the human path), the novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther" (a tragic story of a young bourgeois man who did not find an answer to his feelings and was rejected by society), the epic poem "Hermann and Dorothea," as well as selected poems. All works are accompanied by illustrations by German artists of the 19th century, Richard Brendamour and Franz Xaver Winter.
