Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832) - German writer, thinker, philosopher and natural scientist, statesman. Goethe wrote in different genres: poetry, drama, epic, autobiography and others, his works are recognized as master of German and world literature.

This work was created for almost sixty years (1774 - 1832) The drama is based on the legend of the scientific doctor Faust, which arose in Germany in the XVI century. According to legend, Faust was engaged in black magic and sold his soul to the devil for fulfilling any desires.
In Goethe’s drama, the evil spirit of Mephistopheles in the sky concludes with the Lord the betting whether Faust can save his soul from him. Professor Faust, realizing the futility of his attempts to comprehend the secrets of the universe, decides to accept the poison, but the sound of the blessed stops it. A meeting with Mephistopheles radically changes the life of an old hermit
