Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev (1818-1883) was an outstanding Russian writer, an undisputed classic of world literature, an impeccable stylist, and a connoisseur of Russian life. He is the author of famous works about love such as "A Nest of Gentlefolk," "First Love," and "Spring Torrents," as well as equally well-known novels about Russia, including the openly authored "The Diary of a Superfluous Man," "Rudin," "On the Eve," and "Fathers and Sons." The story of the love of the extraordinary Bazarov, who failed to find application for his outstanding qualities neither in his professional life nor in his personal life, still touches and makes one empathize with the main character, his remarkable integrity and strength of personality, as well as the unfulfilled potential in the lives of people so generously endowed by nature in Russian society.
