The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates, like Confucius, did not leave his works. But his students, Plato and Xenophon, in the form of dialogues and small stories conveyed to us the philosophical views of Socrates. Thanks to this, we know what Socrates taught, what were his main life values, what problems of being occupied.
For the first time in one collection, the statements of a wise philosopher were collected, who even today has something to learn. True, sometimes in the texts of Plato Socrates, one says one thing, and in the texts of Xenophon, on the same issue, it is completely different, as if it contradicts itself. This is caused by the memory and interpretation of the teacher’s thoughts by his equally famous students. But it is all the more interesting to monitor the chain of Socrates and make their own conclusions.
The collection logically complements biographical notes about the philosopher of Diogenes of Laerta, who briefly describes the life of Socrates and talks about his tragic death
