This is the story of Ulrich von Bek, a cynical mercenary selling his military talents in conflicts, shaking all of Europe. Once a member of the unheard of brutal destruction of the whole city, von Beck decides to leave the military company that he worked for, and travel a little alone before looking for a new place. On his way, he accidentally stumbled upon a castle, where he finds shelter, and then falls in love with the Keeper of the castle, a beautiful Sabrina. It is in this castle that he meets Lucifer, the lord of Hell, and finds out that his soul is already doomed to get into hell. And in exchange for his soul, von Beck agrees to the proposal of Lucifer to find a cure for pain around the world. This impossible mission is also known as the search for the Holy Grail. Traveling around Europe, von Beck will be drawn into wars, politics, intrigues and romantic relations. But he has no right to forget about his goal - and about the monstrous deal concluded with the devil ...
