Thirteen -year -old Simon and his friend Abby are drawn into the mysterious and fantastic events associated with the ancient Egyptian mirror of Mr. Hawkins, the elderly neighbor of the boy.
When the old archaeologist passes away, a suspicious couple who calls himself his relatives moves into his house. Simon, subject to a strange illness since he first looked in the mirror, removes this artifact from the cache of Mr. Hawkins and turns to the museum curator to unravel the dark spell regarding the original owner of the mirror and the so -called niece of Mr. Hawkins.
