Here is a story written in a rare genre of crypto -historia - by all signs historical, but from the life of another world. Historians generally like to work precisely in the fantasy genre, and Elena Prudnikova is a well -known historian, with a name of a dozen books on the Soviet era. However, in the artistic genre, she prefers not to describe the worlds, but to create them. But, by and large, the book is dedicated to the same topic as other documentary works of the author: the study of technology is impossible. “Search for fords through the River Fire” just means trying to make, what is impossible to do.
In the story there are no elves with goblins, nor Padanians, no magic. What is there? The living characters, which, but the author’s recognition, “act yourself - and try not to listen”, a well -developed world with many details, a little mysticism - in an amount that is quite acceptable for a historical novel. A calm, even a protracted beginning ... And suddenly the narrative breaks into a gallop and draws the reader inside himself, into the streets of the burning capital. But this is only the beginning of terrible, but quite likely and to the real history of events
