Little Vasilisa and sister sat by long, severe winter nights sat by the fire and listened to the nannines of fairy tales. Most of all, Vasya loved a fairy tale about frost, a blue -eyed spirit of winter, which takes careless souls.
After some time, the widowed father of Vasya brings a young wife from Moscow. A deeply religious stepmother forbids his family to honor pagan spirits, but Vasya is afraid of the consequences of this decision. Indeed, adversity falls on the village one after another. But the stepmother becomes only severe, intending to arrange life in the estate in his own way, and at the same time prepare a rebellious stepdaughter for marriage or tonsure. The protection of the village weakens, and the forest evil creeps closer. To protect her family from a fabulous threat, which has become reality, Vasilisa is forced to use her dangerous skills, which she hid for so long
