"Sadko", "Sivka-Burka", "Marya Morevna", "Snegurochka"... - 30 Russian fairy tales are presented before us with rare illustrations by masters of book graphics from the 19th to the early 20th century. Georgy Narbut (1886-1920), Elena Polenova (1850-1898), Ernst Lissner (1874-1941), Boris Zvorykin (1872-1942), and many others - before the revolution, their works were no less famous than the renowned illustrations of Ivan Bilibin. Today, the books designed by them have become collectible rarities. Most of the illustrations presented in the edition are returning for the first time in a whole century - as well as some Russian fairy tales practically unknown to the modern reader: "The Wooden Eagle", "The Tsar's Pearl", "The Mosquito and the Swallow"...
