Valery Alexandrovich Podoroga (1946-2020) was an outstanding Russian philosopher and the laureate of the A. White and V. Kandinsky awards. This edition represents the fifth book of the fundamental project of analytical anthropology of literature 'MIMESIS'. Within the project, the emergence of the idea of a literary work is traced based on one of the leading traditions of Russian literature of the 19th-20th centuries (I. Gogol, F. Dostoevsky, A. White, A. Platonov, and A. Shalamov, the Oberiu group). The fifth book, 'The Fainting of the World', is dedicated to the analysis of the creative work of the poetic group Oberiu.
