The manual presents the most modern approaches to managing patients with syncope. Complex issues of differential diagnosis of fainting with neurological and psychogenic causes of loss of consciousness episodes are discussed. The role of individual diagnostic methods is highlighted, such as visualization of the head and heart, tilt testing, and other autonomic tests, long-term ambulatory ECG monitoring, intracardiac electrophysiological study, as well as video recording of spontaneous episodes witnessed by bystanders.
