Valery Popov is a prose writer, memoirist, author of books "Life Succeeded", "Ink Angel", "Mosquito Lives While Singing", "Dance to Death", "Dovlatov" (in the series "Lives of Remarkable People"), a representative of the Leningrad Sixties, was acquainted with Andrei Bitov, Sergei Dovlatov, Joseph Brodsky, Viktor Golyavkin, Vladimir Uflyand.
