The collection includes fables, parables, and poems by the member of the Russian Writers' Union, Alexander Fomenko.
The collection is conventionally divided into three parts.
The first part features fables written in the last five years.
The second part contains parables written in different years.
The third part includes works of larger forms.
The tale of the Cossack Ignat narrates the adventures of the daring Cossack Ignat.
The poem about the little soldier tells the story of the feat of 14-year-old boy Vanya Gerasimov during the years of the Great Patriotic War in the defense of Stalingrad.
The legend or tale of Prince Khot narrates the great love story of the Adyghe prince Khot and the Russian girl Maryana, whom the prince redeemed from slavery.
