The monograph is devoted to the phenomenon of extremism, its various manifestations in the context of the global risk society. It addresses the main parameters of modern society and fundamental sociocultural changes associated with the transition from the classic modern model to the risk society (late modernity), which is distinguished by the audit of the very principle of modernization, the instability of social processes, the increase in the risk of social environment and the emergence of global risks. The study analyzes the methodological foundations of scientific understanding of extremism, the classification of leading approaches was carried out in the interpretation of the essence of extremism, the concept of methodological patterns was introduced.
