The manual for the course "Philological and Expert Analysis of Controversial Texts" presents the principles, ideas, and methods of expert analysis of controversial texts included in the current linguistic and cultural situation. It discusses general philological, linguistic, and legal interpretations of controversial texts, as well as technologies for linguistic diagnostics of statements and texts, the expert analysis of which is carried out in connection with claims by physical and legal persons for the protection of honor, dignity, business reputation, and defamation. Directions for analyzing extremist materials are indicated. The appendix contains samples of expert opinions prepared by professors of the Ural Federal University I.T. Veprevoy, N.A. Kupina, O.A. Mikhaylova.
