The book provides the first scientific proof of the genetic relationship between six major language families of the Old World: Semito-Hamitic, Kartvelian, Indo-European, Uralic, Dravidian, and Altaic (Nostratic macrofamily). It establishes the basic phonetic correspondences between them and offers a reconstruction of the proto-forms of identified genetically common lexical and morphological elements. The book includes an introduction providing an overview of the literature on the subject, a comparative dictionary containing 245 Nostratic reconstructions from b to K, and phonetic tables of correspondences.
