Stanislav Lvovsky was born in 1972 in Moscow. He graduated from the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University, taught at a gymnasium, worked in advertising and public relations, managed various cultural projects (including the 'SlovoNova' festival in Perm), and headed the literature department of the internet project Openspace. He is one of the founders of the Young Writers' Union 'Babylon' (1989), a laureate of the IV Festival of Free Verse (1993), the first laureate of the 'Moscow Count' Minor Award (2003). He is the author of six books of poetry and prose, also published translations of contemporary poetry (C. Bukowski, L. Cohen, V. Pliura, and others), numerous literary-critical and journalistic articles.
