The book presents the poetry of the outstanding Austrian poet R. M. Rilke (with complete translations of the collections 'Sacrifices to the Lares', 'Chicory', 'Crowned with Dreams' and individual poems from the collections 'Life and Songs', 'Christ', 'Book of Images') and his dramaturgy - with the plays 'The Air of Heights' and 'Ordinary Life'. The appendix contains selections of poems by German and Austrian poets of the XVIII-XX centuries: M. G. Lichtwer, J. W. Goethe, J. M. R. Lenz, F. Hölderlin, C. Brentano, A. von Chamisso, N. Lenau, T. Fontane, G. Heym, J. Becher, B. Brecht, G. Maurer. Each selection is preceded by an article about the author of the poems.
