For the first time, extremely entertaining, cognitive, and often cheerful household plots, drawn in Russia by the German artist H. G. Geisler, were brought together for the first time. These "pictures", grouped in different suits, were published in small circulations in Leipzig in the period of 1801-1805. Each of them is currently a bibliographic rarity, and there is no full code in any of the libraries in Russia and abroad. This publication includes more than a hundred plots made by the author in the manner of engraving with a thorough coloring watercolor.
characteristic of the Heisler is sharpness of the eye, accuracy of observations, ethnographic accuracy and friendly attitude to ordinary people in Russia. The artist, of course, like everyone who worked in the "costume" genre of foreigners, was primarily interested in the external "street" side of life. The main object of his observations was residents on the streets of cities. Explanatory texts for engravings, written by various authors, were originally intended for the German reader, and were never translated into Russian. For this publication, these entertaining texts are first translated into Russian
