The book covers the entire complex of modern sources and norms of European law (European Union law - EU) regulating migration processes on the European continent. The focus is on the one hand, the migration rights of European citizens and their family members (section 1), and on the other hand, the migration rights of citizens of Russia and other countries not part of the EU, upon entry, exit, stay in the Schengen area, when obtaining and using Schengen visas, European residence permits, and other migration documents, legal regulation of economic and non-economic, including educational, migration to the EU, the common European asylum regime and its reform projects (sections 2, 3). A separate section examines the norms of currency, medical, tax, educational, social, customs, transport, labor, and other branches of EU legislation affecting the rights of legal migrants and travelers: conditions and limits of duty-free and tax-free import/export of personal belongings, rules and restrictions in the field of cross-border transportation of money and certain types of property (pets, counterfeit goods, cultural values, medicines, weapons, food, etc.), the procedure for recognizing foreign education and professional qualification documents in the EU, legal regulation of social security and medical tourism in the EU, etc. (section 4). The final section is dedicated to EU legislation and practical measures aimed at combating illegal migration, including the legal status of the European Border and Coast Guard, the procedure for deportation and readmission of illegal immigrants, criminal and administrative measures against organizers and accomplices of illegal immigration, subjects of 'terrorist tourism' (section 5). The legislation is provided as of January 1, 2018. For students, postgraduates, teachers of law schools and faculties, faculties of economics and international relations, practicing lawyers, and other readers interested in European law and legal regulation of migration processes in the modern world. The book can also serve as a reference and practical guide for citizens of Russia traveling to tourist, business, and other trips to the EU, employees of travel agencies, and other legal entities involved in organizing or accompanying such trips.
