Within the framework of bioethics, there are fundamental principles such as respect for autonomy, beneficence, "do no harm," justice, and several others, many of which trace back to the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates. The application of these principles to various areas of biomedicine (genetics, euthanasia issues, human reproduction) is considered.
