General Anton Denikin (1872–1947) was the most prominent military and political figure in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, a prominent representative of the White movement. He participated in the Russo-Japanese War, started the First World War as a major general, and ended as the commander-in-chief of the armies of the Southwest Front. During the Civil War, he was the commander-in-chief of the Volunteer Army, and later the commander of the White Armed Forces of Southern Russia. In the book of the famous general, we are presented with the history of Russia as it was for almost fifty years. It includes descriptions of military campaigns, vivid depictions of the life of the Russian army, portraits of military leaders and statesmen, detailed accounts of the events of the Civil War, and a deep analysis of the political situation during those troubled years.
