The Historical Memory Foundation of Iranians is rich in events, among which the Anglo-Iranian War of 1856-1857 can rightfully be included. This well-known to specialists but not immediately apparent to the general readership plot has an interesting fate. Often appearing in various research papers, it is mainly seen from its "political" side, while the military actions themselves remain behind the scenes, only occasionally indicating their presence.
The monograph presented to the readers is intended to correct the imbalance that has emerged in the research literature and to show what was happening in the Persian Gulf region, away from the stage where the political events that led to this war were unfolding.
The book is addressed to orientalists, as well as to all those interested in the history of Iran.
