This book presents the history of special forces of the NKVD, KGB, and Ministry of Defense of the USSR, as well as individual leaders who heroically fought against the enemy during the Great Patriotic War, before its beginning and after its end. Many operations were unjustly overlooked by the press, cinema, and literature. The Heroes of the Soviet Union who participated in these operations were hidden behind the veil of state secrecy or stood in the background of national history. Large-scale cavalry raids in Afghanistan to combat the Basmachi, fighting against German-Romanian invaders in the Odessa catacombs, retaliatory actions, and even a special political special forces unit under the leadership of Comrade Kim Il Sung, trained by Soviet commanders in the Far East, vividly illustrate the life and combat work of the true heroes of our great country.
