The monograph is devoted to the study of the processes that occurred in companies and in enterprises during the last economic crisis and in the pre-crisis years. It includes studies of external and internal factors of modernization: a competitive environment and business climate, innovative behavior, management technologies, models of the interaction of the state and business, mechanisms of inter-revocative coordination, etc. Separate essays are combined with a general methodology. The empirical base served the results of two rounds of monitoring the competitiveness of enterprises of manufacturing industries conducted in 2005 and 2009. At the Institute for Analysis of Enterprises and Markets HSE, whose staff made a kernel of the author"s team.
