The book presents three interconnected components of the linguistic worldview: phraseology - color - image. The analysis focuses on lexical and phraseological units of three Slavic languages - Russian, Belarusian, and Czech. In a comparative perspective, phraseological units are presented, which include an achromatic color term (gray) and an animalistic component - the name of a wild or domestic animal or bird. The 'gray' palette of phraseology reflects various symbols of national worldviews: ancient biblical and folklore images, individually-national (a gray stallion), current phenomena of modernity ('gray' / shadow economy, 'gray' area).
