Nikolai Prokofievich Vasilenko - Ukrainian historian, state and politician. He spent his whole life in Ukraine, in any case in the field of historical research, and dedicated himself exclusively his homeland. With the Ukrainian question, Vasilenko was familiar with thoroughly, but, as any honest person, could not deny the meanings of Russian culture and throw away Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, in other words, belonged to the Ukrainian consciously, without chauvinism and without any intolerance. From respect to the author, many words we left in Ukrainian spelling: Kozak, senior, etc. This publication is fully consistent with the 1916 publication
