When Harald became king and took possession of the whole Norway, the desire to escape from harsh power, a craving for adventure and a thirst for wealth forced the most daring Vikings to leave their native land and go into swimming. The wind carried the ships to unknown islands. In search of hospitable lands, our heroes moved from one shore to another. So settlements appeared in Iceland, Greenland and America.
Nights in Iceland are long. The household gathered around the fire, closer to heat and light. The head of the family talked about the kings of Norway, about travel, distant countries and bloody battles. People knew and loved these stories, and scalds - sagged sagas on them and sang to the sounds of harp. Over time, they were recorded on parchment, and they have survived to this day
