The Caucasian epic is one of the oldest heroic and epic works of the peoples of the world along with the "Iliad", Odyssey, Shahname and "Kalevala.
In our collection, more than fifty Caucasian fairy tales, legends and traditions of sixteen peoples are presented in our collection. These works were carefully extracted from books and periodicals of the 19th century and processed by the Russian folklorists L.F. Chersky and V. A. Gattsuk. Published in 1900-1906, for the first time they are produced in the form of a single anthology.
An original and fascinating fairy -tale plots give an idea not only about the peoples living in this unique region, where the West and East are incredibly connected, but also about the diversity and features of Caucasian folklore.
