Here is the first and so far the only prosaic arrangement of the famous Scandinavian epic "Senior Edda", made by the famous writer Ilya Brazhav. Now this literary monument, which until recently was of interest exclusively for experts, has gone beyond the academic circle and has become available to the widest audience.
"Elder Edda" stands on a par with such epics as "Iliad" and "Mahabharata". Despite the fact that “Edda "has reached our time in the form of disparate parts, her" Songs about the gods" and "Songs of the Heroes" played a tremendous role in the development of Western European literature. The epic is in demand today - it is enough to turn to the work of such popular writers as John Tolkien and George Martin to make sure of this. It was thanks to the "Edda" that creatures as elves, gnomes, trolls, kobolds and the gods of Asgard were included in the use of modern fiction
