Epics of the Russian people

Our collection includes the most popular epics of the Kyiv and Novgorod cycles: about Volga Vseslavievich, Mikule Selyaninovich, Alyosha Popovich, Dobryne Nikitich, Ilya Muromets and Sadko. Epicians tell about important events of antiquity, describe the life and way of ancient Rus", talk about the hopes and experiences of the Russian people.
In the collection of epics are presented in the retelling of Irina Karnaukhova - the famous collector of oral folk art, writer and folklorist. It is this retelling that is recommended by educational institutions to get acquainted with the epics.
The drawings for the collection were made by popular artists S. Bordyug and N. Treepenok and published for the first time.
