Attempts to translation of Edda into Russian have been made repeatedly back in the 19th century, but only the translation of S.A. became more or less scientific. Sviridova, later almost forgotten for various reasons. Only the first part of the Eddic texts was published, and the comments of the translator, which are still useful today for understanding the features of mythology and thinking of ancient Scandinavians, were of particular value.
