Zinaida Hippius (1869–1945) - Madonna Decadance, poetess, writer, critic, ideologist of Russian symbolism. In the 1910s. She conceived the trilogy of novels that could reflect her philosophical, moral and political views. So in 1911 the socio-political novel “Damn Doll” was released, which was ambiguously accepted by critics and the public.
The main character, Yuri Dvoekurov, Yurul, is a hero of non -being, a damn doll, a man without a god who is not worried about tomorrow. Biography unfolds in the first, fatal decade of the 20th century. Yurul is beautiful with his “dead beauty”, Hippius does not welcome his lifestyle, but cannot take his eyes off him. This is a novel about the problems of religion in the revolution, spirituality and atheism, the further development of Russia, individualism, the unification of the intelligentsia and the people moving the forces of the revolution
