Virgil (70–19 BC) is one of the greatest poets of ancient Rome, even in antiquity his works were considered exemplary and studied in schools. “Bucolics” (43–37 BC), the earliest of his creations, contain ten an ecogue with scenes from shepherd life, which, upon closer examination, turns out to be not only close to nature and complete feelings, but also very intellectual.
The didactic poem Georgiki was written later (c. 29 BC) and consists of four books singing labor on Earth, its joy and hardships. And in this work an extensive subtext, philosophical and spiritual.
