Anthony Pogorelsky (1787-1836)-the pseudonym of the Russian writer-romantic of the first half of the 19th century Alexei Alekseevich Perovsky. He was an illegitimate son of Count Alexei Kirillovich Razumovsky, but Emperor Alexander 1, at the request of the count, granted all his illegal children a noble rank. All of them received the last name Perovsky - named after the Moscow Region of the Razumovsky Porovo estate. The future writer received a good home education, was admitted to Moscow University, and already in 1807 he received the highest academic degree - a doctor of philosophy and verbal sciences.
In the same year A.A. Perovsky translates the “poor Lisa” of Karamzin into German, this was his first serious literary experience. From 1808 to 1812 he was in the public service, with the outbreak of Patriotic War in 1812, he leaves the post of secretary of the Minister of Finance on Foreign Trade Department and goes into the army. In 1816, the future writer returns to St. Petersburg, where he continues to carry the civil service. In 1822, Count Razumovsky dies, and A.A. Perovsky inherited the village of Pogoreltsy in the Chernihiv province, from the name of which the pseudonym of the writer comes.
Together with A.A. Perovsky also lived in Pogoreltsy, his sister, Anna Alekseevna Razumovskaya, with the son of Alyosha - the future writer Alexei Konstantinovich Tolstoy. Once, Little Alyosha told Pogorelsky how, while walking in the boarding house, he made friends with the chicken and saved her from the cook. This real story A.A.
