Elder Paisius Svyatogorets, recently glorified by the Greek Orthodox Church in the face of the Monk, practically our contemporary. He spent most of his life on the Holy Mount Athos, where he acquired an invaluable spiritual gift of prayer for people. The elder experienced someone else"s pain as his own, his word to the suffering soul was artless and therefore fertile. Paisius"s father avoided boring moralizing and often told the pilgrims of history from his life who visited him. In these stories, the paths of the Providence of God are intertwined with common sense, conscience and even the resourcefulness of the heroes of the story, they are warming with good humor, love for all creation of God, the wisdom of the blessed old man
