This edition is a basic course of the educational complex 'English for Medical Schools and Colleges'. The first part of the complex 'English. Introductory Course' is aimed at forming initial skills in reading and translating popular science texts, as well as skills in oral communication on topics related to the future profession of students.
The purpose of this course is to form and develop basic skills in working with more complex sources of information - scientific and special medical texts. The system of tasks proposed by the authors forms an algorithm for analyzing and reading English texts among students, ensuring their understanding, extraction of necessary information, and recording of the obtained information in various ways (performing written translation, compiling annotations, filling in tables containing certain facts, etc.). The development of oral communication skills is also oriented towards communication in professional activities. The textbook is equipped with keys to the tasks, which allows it to be used for independent work by students as well.
