In a systematic form, information about weapons and weapons systems as objects that ensure the defeat of targets using various ammunition is set out. A brief overview of the history of weapons development is given. Definitions of the concepts of "weapons", "weapons" complex, "system of weapons" are given. The composition, structure, basic properties and ammunition of weapons complexes are considered.
